OLW Blog Hop

YEAH!  My first blog hop!!  I am SO EXCITED!


I joined One Little Word on a whim. I missed the Picture Winter workshop community so much that I needed more.  Little did I know what I was missing!  I came across Big Picture Classes a few years ago.  I would check out their site and check out their classes, but would never sign up.  I don't even know what brought me back again, but I am so glad I did.

For the month of February we were tasked with cultivating our word and bringing it into our life.  I will say that I struggled a little.  Not because I couldn't bring joy into my life, but because I know what brings me joy.  I know what makes me happy.  I do.  I really do.  I just don't celebrate it.  I don't feel it in the deepest part of my heart.  I know it.  I just don't feel it. 

I am looking forward to continuing this journey.  I look forward to changing the way I experience things.  I want to feel the joy and share it.  When I became a mother, my wish was for my children to smile easy and to be enthusiastic about life.  How will they do that if I don't model it for them?  Don't get me wrong, we have fun.  We do things as a family.  We enjoy each other.  I just don't get overly enthusiastic and I wish I did.  Not overly - just enthusiastic.

So, this year I will work on it.  I will try to smile easy so that my kids will.  I will try to be enthusiastic, because there are so many things to be enthusiastic about.  I can't wait for this life changing year.  I can't.

    I love that you're celebrating Joy. My word is clear and with my mental clarity I have been led to the concept of happiness. And apparently I'm not alone. I can relate to your wishes for your children and your level of enthusiasm. I am striving for similar things because I've just realized that I can choose to be happy. I'm so glad I stopped by.     Great photos, especially all the painted nails. :) Kids (my kids, anyway) seem to have no trouble at all getting overly excited about anything... perhaps you can find some inspiration in them. :) Good luck on your journey!

    Yes Amanda - cup of pipping hot coffee, because what brings more joy on a morning after your husband and 6 yr old son snored in the "big bed" all night. Little guy has a cold and keeps crawling in! Mandy our dog's birthday was today and he is the cutest little thing. He is a Shorkie (Yorkie and Shih Tzu mix). Sweetest temperment and he is smiling in the picture! Thank you everyone for the comments. I can't wait to see where this journey brings me.

    So sorry I am late your part of the hop! I have been having some big internet issues so the last part of the list I wasn't able to get to until now. There is a conference in Beijing and the government cracks down on the internet and this makes blogs very hard to access and the internet in general SLOW! Anyway, I was so touched by your determination to bring joy into your life more. What a wonderful goal. I loved your photos especially the RED kitchenaid mixer - a woman after my own heart. Thanks so much for participating.
